Publish Results: Model Updates

You use the Model Updates tab to save scheduling period numbers to the block models. Scheduling periods for both mining and filling can be written back to the block model.

Model updates are relevant only if you are scheduling from GEOVIA Surpac block models. If you are scheduling from GEMS or Vulcan block models, GEOVIA Minex grid models, string models, or CSV models you cannot write the scheduling period numbers to these model types.

Note: MineSched cannot update Vulcan block models. If your scenario includes a Vulcan block model, a warning appears stating that the block model cannot be updated. If you choose to proceed, all other models in the scenario are updated.

Writing the scheduling periods back to the block models is useful if you want to perform a validation of the schedule in a general mining program.

Fields on the Model Updates Tab

Field Description
Update Block Models When you click this button, MineSched writes the scheduling period numbers back to the block model from which the schedule was created.
Attribute name

The name of the block model attribute which is used to store the scheduling period number.

This attribute does not have to exist in the block model. If the attribute does not exist in the model when you click Update Block Models, the attribute is created as part of the update process.

Note: The attribute name for the fill scheduling periods is created by appending _fill to the Attribute name.

Clear attribute
  • Selected: If the attribute selected to store the scheduling period numbers exists in the block model, the data in the attribute is deleted before the period numbers are written to the attribute.
  • Cleared: The values in the existing attribute are not deleted before the period numbers are written to the attribute.
Locations

The mining and fill locations for which you want to write the scheduling period numbers back to the block model.

Tip: You can use wildcards to specify more than one location. To specify the locations using the Wildcard Expression Builder, click the Ellipsis button.
